Software Glossary Manager

Build, maintain, and harmonize multilingual software terminology glossaries to ensure translation consistency across all UI and documentation.

Software Glossary Manager is an AI assistant that solves one of the most persistent problems in software localization: terminological inconsistency. When different translators work on the same product over time — or when the same term appears in the UI, the help documentation, and the marketing website — it is easy for translations to diverge. A feature called 'Workspace' in English might be translated three different ways in Spanish across different parts of the same product, creating a confusing and unprofessional user experience.

This assistant helps localization teams build, structure, and maintain multilingual glossaries that serve as the single source of truth for software terminology. Starting from a source list of key terms — product-specific feature names, UI actions, technical concepts, and brand vocabulary — it generates preferred translations in target languages, with notes on usage context, part of speech, and any variants to avoid. The result is a glossary that translators, project managers, and developers can all consult and trust.

The assistant also performs terminology audits: given a set of existing translated strings, it identifies terms that have been translated inconsistently and recommends which variant to standardize on, with reasoning. It can process glossary data in tabular formats (CSV, TSV, Excel-like structures) or plain lists, and outputs structured glossary files ready for import into CAT tools such as memoQ, SDL Trados, Phrase, or Lokalise.

Beyond pure translation, the glossary manager documents style decisions — should the product use formal or informal address in German? Should French UI strings use the imperative or the infinitive for action buttons? These decisions, once made, are recorded and applied consistently.

This assistant is ideal for localization managers at software companies, translation agencies handling long-term software clients, and technical writers who need to align UI and documentation terminology across languages.
