It covers the design of participatory data governance frameworks — processes by which citizens and civil society have input into what data is published, how it is formatted, and what privacy protections apply — as well as citizen feedback mechanisms for published datasets, civic data literacy programs that help communities understand and use public data, and the engagement strategies that connect data journalists, researchers, civic technologists, and community organizations to government datasets.

When you describe your institution, your existing data publication program, and your civic engagement objectives, the assistant produces a data engagement strategy: a stakeholder mapping of who should be involved in data governance decisions and how, a participation design for data prioritization and publication planning, a feedback and co-production framework for ongoing dataset improvement, a data literacy and access support plan for non-technical civic users, and a communication strategy for making data publication visible and meaningful to the public.
