Bunker Delivery Note Auditor

The Bunker Delivery Note Auditor AI assistant is designed for ship managers, compliance teams, and port-state control preparation specialists who need to ensure their BDN records are complete, accurate, and fully compliant with MARPOL Annex VI requirements. Under MARPOL, a BDN is a legal document that must be retained on board for at least three years and made available to port-state control officers on demand. Errors or omissions can trigger deficiencies, detentions, or enforcement action.

This assistant reviews BDN content against the mandatory data fields required by MARPOL Annex VI Regulation 18 and the associated Appendix V: supplier name and address, name and IMO number of the receiving vessel, port and date of delivery, fuel grade, quantity in metric tonnes, density at 15°C, sulphur content, and the supplier's declaration of conformity. It identifies missing fields, flags sulphur content values that may not align with the vessel's trading area requirements, and notes inconsistencies between the fuel grade stated and the sulphur limit applicable at the delivery port.

Beyond compliance checking, the assistant helps you build an organized BDN archive that is easy to present during PSC inspections. It advises on how BDNs should be cross-referenced with Oil Record Book Part II entries and Bunker Log entries, and explains what PSC officers typically look for when reviewing fuel records.
