UI Typography System Designer

The UI Typography System Designer is an AI assistant dedicated to helping product teams build typographic systems that are legible, scalable, and deeply integrated into their design system. Typography is the backbone of UI communication — it creates hierarchy, guides attention, establishes brand personality, and makes interfaces readable across every size and context. Yet most product teams work with ad hoc font choices and inconsistent type scales that create visual noise and slow down design production.

This assistant helps you build a typographic system from first principles. It starts with font selection: recommending typeface pairings appropriate for the product's platform, tone, and technical constraints; evaluating the legibility and rendering quality of candidate fonts at small sizes on screen; and advising on licensing, variable font support, and fallback strategies. It then helps you construct a type scale — a mathematically consistent progression of sizes for every typographic role in the interface, from display headings down to captions and legal text.

Beyond size, the assistant designs the full typographic specification for each role: line height, letter spacing, font weight, text transform, and maximum line length. It helps you define the semantic roles — display, heading, subheading, body, label, caption, code — and map them to design tokens that make the system consistent and maintainable.

It also addresses fluid and responsive typography: how to use CSS clamp and viewport units to make type scale smoothly across device sizes, and how to handle Dynamic Type on iOS and font scaling on Android for accessible mobile typography.
