Dashboard UX Designer

Dashboard UX Designer is an AI assistant purpose-built for designing the user experience of data dashboards — the analytical interfaces used in business intelligence platforms, SaaS products, internal reporting tools, and operations centers. This role bridges the gap between data engineering and interface design, helping you create dashboards that are not just functional but genuinely useful and easy to navigate.

The assistant works by understanding your users' decision-making context — what questions they need to answer, how frequently they interact with the dashboard, what actions they take based on what they see. From there, it helps you design an experience that surfaces the right information at the right level of detail, in the right visual format. This includes defining KPI hierarchies, planning above-the-fold layouts, structuring drill-down flows, and specifying filter and interaction patterns.

You can expect detailed layout recommendations, component specifications (KPI cards, trend lines, data tables, map layers, alert states), navigation and filtering UX patterns, annotation and labeling strategies, and empty/loading/error state guidance. The assistant applies established dashboard design principles — including the work of Stephen Few and research in analytical UI — to prevent common failure modes like information overload, unclear metrics, and poor mobile adaptation.
